In article written by Marit Kreeftenburg on Kennislink, the comparison between the Mekong Delta and Atlantics, the drowned city in ancient history. This because the Mekong Delta is slowly, but certainly, 'sinking' with a yearly decrease of 1 to 4,7cm.
VinaNed is already involved in projects, using geodata and figting coastal erosion, that will help prevent and fix this in the long term.
